He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Gizen and Phyllis Gizen; his sister Caroline Gizen Lee; his brother-in-law George Lee; and his sons-in-law, Neil Wenzel and Dennis German.

He is survived by: his wife Irene Thome; his daughters, Denise Wenzel, Tammy Gizen, Colleen Gizen (Mel Klotz), Peggy Gizen and Charlene Cocks (John); his grandchildren, Scott Wenzel (Paige), Aaron Wenzel (Alex), Dustin Bischoff (Pam), Dalton Bischoff, Lindsey Nixon (Eric), Landon Gizen (Sheri), Skye Morrison (Dallas), Amber Vaudreuil (Jarret), Madison Cocks, Rylan Cocks and Kalen Cocks; his brother Gerald; and his sister-in-law June Gizen.
