He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie; his great grandchild Alfred Johnston McCarthy; and his siblings, Donell, Grant, Marion Dayman, Norma Zacharias and Glenn LaRose.
He is survived by: his children, Rod (Nancey) and Stephanie Balogh (Lloyd); his grandchildren, Melissa Hazell (Shane), Kristine Rowan (Blair), Katharine Cullingham-McCarthy (Andrew) and Clint McCarthy (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mersadie, Sawyer, Savannah, Bella, Mason and Helen; his sister Lois McFarlane; and his sister-in-law Sheila McCarthy.
