He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bill Malainey and Sophie Malainey (Tomchuk); his wife Joan Fromm; his siblings, Nick (Joan), Billie Malainey and Alice Asselstine; his stepson Garth (Tracy); his stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Carson; and also, Crystal (Andrew), Paloma, Piper, Charity, Carrie (Randall), Chase and Paige.
