He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Yurkiw and Kateryna Yurkiw (Stusek); and his wife Doreen Tanasiuk of Stenen, SK.. He is survived by: his children, Dianne Kluk (Dale) of St. Albert, AB and Kevin Yurkiw (Leann) of Yorkton, SK; his grandchildren, Alyssa Kluk of Saskatoon, SK, Matthew Kluk of St. Albert, AB, Skylar Yurkiw of Yorkton, SK and Paige Yurkiw of Yorkton, SK; his brother Eugene Yurkiw of Edmonton, AB; and his close friend Pauline Sawka. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to the global pandemic and social restrictions in place, a private family graveside service was held on May 20, 2020, at the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK, with Fr. Petro Tsenov officiating.
Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Maudest Yurkiw.
