He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Akapew and Alma Akapew; his sons, Darren, Delbert and Kenneth "Kilo"; and his siblings, Katherine, Shirley, Margaret, Robert, William, Gilbert and Campbell Swanson.
He is survived by: his sons, Trevor (Adrienne) and Cory; his grandchildren, Treyvon, Catherine (Max), Evan, Hunter, Angeina, Darren, Katrina and Phoenix; and his siblings, Elsie, Doris, Ruth and Sidney. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews.
A wake was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Little Black Bear Community Hall. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM.
