He was predeceased by: his wife Amy; his parents, Oliver Hanson and Lulu Hanson; his mother-in-law Jessie Insko (Eaton); and his siblings, Lloyd, Dorothy Ribling (Harold), Ben Hanson (Olive), Doreen Duff (Garnet), Gordon and Elaine Spalding (Irvine).

He is survived by: his significant other Pat Fernell; his children, Blair (Sheri Bender), Kelly and Juanita Phillips (Kent); his grandchildren, Carl (Paityn), Nathan, Heaven (Ryan), Creston (Brittany), Mackenzie, Blake, Brendan (Stephanie), Jarrett (Kelsey) and Kyler; his great grandchildren, Eternity, Elijah, Tekoa, Arya, Braxton and Lilly; his sister Clara; and his sister-in-law Evelyn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
