He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice; his daughter Patricia; his great grandchild Iyanna; his parents, Laurence Johnson and Jane Johnson; and his siblings, Peggy, Anna, Kitty, Mickey and Larry.

He is survived by: his children, Jean Fitzgerald (Jerry), Erin (Michael Kuhn), Ryan (Lenna Gardikiotis), Sean (Stippe Tuovinen), Larry Johnstone (Karen), Devin (Jade), Sloan, Mitchell (Jacqueline Myers), Nolan, Aiden and Danny Johnstone (Glenda); his sister Mary McDonnell; and his siblings-in-law, Ellen Johnson, Carole Dighans (Bernie), Catherine Mondor (Omar Lapointe) and Robert Beliveau (Coletta).
