He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Messer and Magdaline Messer; his siblings, James Messer, Paul Messer and Maggie Mosley; his siblings-in-law, Bill Chestney, Frank Mosley, Ella Messer, Ann Messer and Terry Bourne; his sons, Gerome and Pat; and his niece Marina Van De Woestyne.
He is survived by: his children, Matt (Kim), Tyler, Nicole, Khloe, Melanie and Miranda Messer; his siblings, Doris Chestney, Vicky Rehberg (Jeff) and Rose Cossette (Ray); his brothers-in-law, Eddie, Willy and Alfred; and also, Margaret Messer, Becky (Larry), Travis, Mason, Jaxon, Tracy, Bill (Vanessa) and Chris Messer.
