He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Vera Smith; his daughter Marlys; and his siblings, Shirley Brush (Terry) and Kenneth Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Cecilia; his sons, Marvin (Shelly) and Michael (Louise); his grandchildren, Amanda and Carter; his sister Sharon Wilkins; and his sister-in-law Glenys Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
