He was predeceased by: his parents, Linda Bartel and Elmer Bartel; his brother Jerry Bartel; his sister-in-law Maureen Bartel; his nephew Glenn Bartel; and his father-in-law Leroy Coates.

He is survived by: his children, Heather, Shawn, Darren and Justin; his grandchildren, Elaine and Ches; his wife Elaine; his family, Holden, Jyllisa, Shawn Bartel (Allison, family: Cade, Kaylin, Mesa), Darren Bartel (family: Hunter, Poet, Prairie) and Justin Bartel (Cheryl, family: Molly, Nash); his sister-in-law Donna Bartel; his mother-in-law Marlene Coates; and also, Doug Bartel (Darlene), Phyllisa Davis (Del), Herb Bartel (Dianne) and Lorne Bartel. He is also survived by family Molly and Nash; brothers, sister.
