He was predeceased by: his parents, Wasyl Kardynal and Eva Kardynal; his wife Annie; his daughter-in-law Sheila Kardynal; his sisters, Ann Kozmeniuk, Mary Nelson and Kay Kindratsky; his siblings-in-law, Rose Kardynal, Pete Kozmeniuk, Fred Nelson, Tony Kindratsky and Ed Kaminski; his niece Patti Nelson; and his close friend Gloria Lozinski.

He is survived by: his children, Holly Smith (Murray), Philip Kardynal and Jamie Kardynal (Chris); his grandchildren, Kaylan (Kyle), Sandy, Curtis and Aaron; his great grandchildren, Nathan, Abby and Logan; and his siblings, William (Stella), Joe (June), Steve, John (Diane), Mable Kaminski and Carol Herman (Art). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
