He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Doris; his son David; and his brother-in-law Leonard Charnstrom. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his sons, Jim (Shirley) of Coquitlam, BC, Jeff (Kerry) of Calgary, AB and Cory (Brittany) of Regina, SK; his grandchildren, Levi, Caleb of Coquitlam, BC, Travis, Taryn of Calgary, AB, Jordan and Kristi (Dustin) of Saskatoon, SK; his sister Verna Charnstrom; his niece Janice; his nephews, Don Charnstrom and Randy Charnstrom; and also Buddy.
