He was predeceased by: his wife Ria Poletz; and his siblings, Annie, Adam, Sam and George.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Metz (Lorne); his daughter-in-law Melissa Large (Marcus); his grandchildren, Lincoln, Olivia, Jessa and Stacey Pernitsky (Anthony); his great grandchild Hilary; his grandchildren, Kabrie, Kenzie and Dustin Metz (Kyleigh); his close friend Ethel Liska; and his siblings, Ria, Peter and Gladys.
