He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dirks and Lucille Dirks; his siblings, Laurie, Jerry, Lluella Besse, Sharon Ireland and Elaine Caron; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Irven, Mike Hertz, Vic Besse, George Ireland, Audrey Dirks and Margaret Irven; his parents-in-law, Jack and Laura Crawford; and his grandson Anthony James Dirks.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Crawford; his sons, Darren (Allison), Sean and Dana (Janelle); his grandchildren, Brayden, Aliyah and Keaton; his stepgrandchildren, Jessica Fehr, Landon Smith and Tucker Smith; his siblings, Dale (Barb), Dave (Eunice) and Norma Taylor; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Hertz, Elaine Dirks, Gen Dirks and Robert Crawford (Laurie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
