He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene; his granddaughter Tara Emmerling; his parents, Kenneth and Marjorie; and his brother Donald.

He is survived by: his sons, Boyd and Kevin (Rayleen); his daughter-in-law Tana Emmerling; his grandsons, Cole Emmerling, Travis, Tyler (Amber), Brett (Jodi) and Kyle (Faith); his great grandchildren, Derek and Wyatt; and his sisters, Bev Baumgart (Gerald), Bonnie and Shelley. He is also survived by numerous nephews, a niece and great-nephews and nieces.
