He was predeceased by: his wife Lorna Rice; his parents, Homer Rice and Mary Rice; and his siblings, Aubry, Raymond, Roy and Bernice.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Willow Brown (Derrel), Elsie Fauth (Ivan), Judy Dubas (Tom) and Chester Dubas; his stepgrandchildren, Charity Franta-Brown, Lloyd Brown, Jenna Fauth, Gram Fauth and Maegan Dubas; and his close friend Scott Reed.
