He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Barrett and Janetta Barrett; his son Todd Barrett; his brother-in-law Alvin Haugen; and his great-nephew Darren Hesjedal.

He is survived by: his granddaughter Rylee Barrett (Carlos); his daughter-in-law Renee (family: Macie, Chase); his siblings, Fay Vancuren (Virgil), Betty Haugen, Gary Barrett (Sharon) and Donna Hicks (Lloyd); and his aunt Irene MacDonald. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.
