He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerda Heese and Arnold Heese; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Karen, Stephanie, Mark (Janet), Marlon (Lauren), Christine, Carolyn (Robert), Laura (Jonah) and Skye; his grandchildren, Justin, Kristen, Mitchell, Mikayla, Markus, Maddie, Lukas, Ava, Liam, Siena and Sydney; his sister-in-law Ingrid; his nieces, Virginia (Mattias) and Kristina (Darren); his great-niece Alexandra; and his great-nephew Oskar.
