He was predeceased by: his parents, Rueben Hodgins and Blanche Cartman; his sister Annabelle Hodgins; his stepfather Robert Johnson (Elsie Tubman); and his daughter-in-law Carmel Hodgins.

He is survived by: his children, Richard (Jennifer), John (Robert) and Katherine (Clifford); his grandchildren, Jesse (Alex), Rebecca (Kyle) and Liam; his wife Gisèle Hodgins; his stepchildren, Suzanne, Christine and Jean-Paul (Theresa); and his grandchildren, Kayla (Josh), Gabie, Josée, Edward and Jamie. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
