He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucas Strotmann and Marijke Wiersma; and his brothers, John, Tjomme, Theo and Theodorus (late Linda).

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Kerri-Lynn, Ryan, Claire, Lina and Sharon; his grandsons, Andrew Lucas and Matthew Ian; his siblings, Joan and Joke (late Gerry); his sister-in-law Diane; and his uncle Oom Aad.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Fondation de l'Hôpital Sacre-Coeur.
