He was predeceased by: his father Richard W. Brauss; and his grandfather Werner Eric Brauss. He is survived by: his mother Allison Clarke; his stepsiblings, Jessica of Halifax and Johnathan Murphy of Halifax; his grandparents, F. Allister Clarke of Oxford, N. S., Barbara Clarke of New Glasgow, N. S. and Grace Brauss of Moncton; his uncles, John (Susan), Colin, David and Auntie Annemarie Holm; and his cousins, Katrina, Alexander, Sophia and Lily.

Donations in memory of Nicholas to the John Howard Society of Nova Scotia or Phoenix Centre for Youth, Halifax are gratefully accepted.
