He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Caplan and Jennie Caplan; his parents-in-law, Mayer and Rose Hoppenheim; his brother Dave; and his siblings-in-law, Faye Caplan, Berel and Leslie Hoppenheim.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Hoppenheim; his daughters, Janet (Frank Shamash), Sharon Caplan (Kyle McManus) and Glenda Caplan; and his caregivers, Michael, Jeanine and Shazia. He is also survived by his family, extended family, friends.
