She was predeceased by: her parents, James Beattie and Elizabeth Chambers; her spouse Albert Thompson; and her siblings, Grant (Marjorie Dixon), Ross (Isabell MacArthur) and Janet.

She is survived by: her children, Richard, Mary (Joe Kelly) and Philip; her grandchildren, Karen (Michael Ohlmann) and Joseph Jr.; her great grandchildren, Annika of Mitchell, AJ and Thomas; and her sisters, Alda Oswald (Albert) and Mabel Canning (Keith). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
