He was predeceased by: his former wife Johanna Westerik; his granddaughter Sarah; and his siblings, Klass, Sjouke, Hylke and Ika.
He is survived by: his wife Isabelle Smyth; his children, Brian (Janet Todd), Dianne (Randy McLean), Sharon (Bill Hayes) and Wesley (Christine Blair); his grandchildren, Jason, Sherie, Becky, Kierstin, Holly, Beth and James; and his great grandchildren, Hallie, Taylor, Jordyn, Connor and Koen. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
