He was predeceased by: his wife Aline Major; his parents, James Gagnon and Arabella Johns; and his siblings, Allan, Clifford, Robert "Bob", Arthur and Marion.

He is survived by: his children, Daniel, Brian, Allan and Yvonne (Denis). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
