He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Jean Proude (Dunning); his parents, Russell Proude and Mildred Proude; his brother Leighton Proude (Wanda); and his parents-in-law, George and Velda Dunning.

He is survived by: his daughter Virginia Proude; his brother Don Proude (Marsha); his sister-in-law Joan Dunning (late Ian); and his nieces and nephews, Gordie Proude (Kate), Patricia Proude, Greg Proude (Kim), Gary Dunning (Billie-Jane Buell), Donna Butler (David), Joyce Leard (Boyd), Neil Proude (Arlene), Ivan Proude, Marie Proude and Star Aucoin (Marc).
