He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Smith and Hilda (Todd); and his siblings, Tod, Eileen (Reid), Jack, Bill, Doug, Don and Ken.
He is survived by: his wife Joy; his children, Ernie, Terrie Cheyne, Ed Stevens, Shelley Caseley, Don Roper, Jacqueline Whitney and Archie McLennan; and his siblings, Joan and Harry.
