She was predeceased by: her parents, Luella Cotton and Lawson Cotton; her husband Joseph "Shorty" Lecuyer; and her brothers, Bud Lecuyer (Simone) and Laurier Lecuyer (Madeleine).

She is survived by: her children, Patti Nelson (Pete) of Lesmurdie, Paul Lecuyer of Springfield, NS and Carol McKee (Ray) of Dartmouth, NS; her grandchildren, Gregor, Madi, Alex and Shiny; and her brother Bruce Cotton of Travellers Rest, PEI. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association in Ruth's memory.
