He was predeceased by: his parents, Bishop Read and Vera Read (Carruthers); his stepmother Ada Jane Stevenson; and his siblings, Dr. Dean Carruthers Read and Emma Jane Ingham (David).
He is survived by: his brother Balfour Read (Shirley); his sister-in-law Marjorie Read; and his close friend Darlene Larter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
