He was predeceased by: his son Chad Garrett; his parents, Foster Garrett and Muriel Garrett; and his parents-in-law, Lennie and Pat Hennessey.

He is survived by: his wife Anne; his children, Darcy (Natalie) and Crystal (Roger); and his siblings, Norma MacKenzie (Harold), Ethan, Rowena MacKinnon, Marilyn Sider (Larry) and Revell.
