He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Gillis and Marion Gillis; his brothers, Daniel and John Gillis; and also Blair.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Donnie (Beverley), Eric (Jean), Rena Grant (David), Walter, Murray, Kent and Sheldon; his grandchildren, Blair (Candy Handrahan), Leon (Katie), Jessica, Jennifer, Lucas (Kristan), Keeghan and Jake; and his great grandchildren, Payton, Colton, Hayden and Liam.
