He was predeceased by: his wife Norma; his daughters, Trudy, Tracy (Rodger Evans) and Tammy MacKenzie (Greg Antuchiewicz); his parents, Eldon MacKenzie and Olga MacKenzie; and his siblings, Eric and Gloria Downe.
He is survived by: his brother Basil (Anne); and his siblings-in-law, Ethel and Raymond Downe. He is also survived by numerous niece, nephews, and extended members of the Garrett family.
