He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gallant and Celina Gallant; and his siblings, Esther, Eileen Wedge (Edward), Bernice MacLellan (Angus) and Lorraine (Catherine).

He is survived by: his friend Minnie Gaudette; his nephew Urban Gallant (Debbie); his brothers, Arnet Gallant (Kathleen) of Toronto, ON and Gene Gallant (Cathy Paugh); his sister-in-law Eileen Gallant; and also, Tignish and Kensington. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, grand nieces.
