He was predeceased by: his parents, Loman McKenna and Nellie McKenna (Cairns); his sister Lori McKenna; and his mother-in-law Shirley Smith. He is survived by: his spouse Kerry Kearnes; his children, Kyle Kearnes of Hamilton, ON, Jessica MacKenzie of Toronto, ON and Loribeth Kearnes; his grandchildren, Jordan, Dominik, Dante and Niko; his siblings, Connie MacDonald (Wade) of Mississauga, ON, Debbie Hardy (Leigh) of Whitby, ON and Corinna Garrah; his father-in-law James R. Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Smith (Nancy) of Newmarket, ON and Laura Ritchie (Danny).
