She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. John Murchison and Annie Murchison (Stevenson); her husband Thomas Purdy; and her brothers, John, Charles, Frank and James.

She is survived by: her children, Marian (Michael) of Ottawa, David (Janet) of Pictou and Alison of Halifax; her grandchildren, Joshua (Ingrid), Rachael and Samuel; her sister L. Ring (Nora) of Rothesay, N. B.; and her siblings-in-law, Janet Purdy of Rothesay and Robert Purdy of Fredericton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
