He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles MacQuarrie and Hazel MacQuarrie (Gordon); his wife Ethel Mae MacQuarrie (Beck); his children, Heather MacQuarrie of Saint Albert, AB, Brenda Clark (Milton) of Sherwood Park, AB, Ian MacQuarrie (Dorothy) of Brudenell, PEI, Gordon MacQuarrie (Anita) of Strathcona County, AB. and Donald Willard MacQuarrie; his grandchildren, Christopher MacQuarrie, Cassandra Cotton, Cody MacQuarrie, Hannah Gideon, Caleb Clark, Lasha MacQuarrie, Jenny MacQuarrie, Paul MacQuarrie, John MacQuarrie, Leah MacQuarrie and John Mikael MacQuarrie; his siblings, Jean Nicholson, Marion Trotter and Malcom MacQuarrie (Marge); and also Don. He was also cherished by great grandchildren.
