He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert and Flora (Laura Matheson); his daughter-in-law Cheryl; his siblings, Laureta Larrabee (Austin), Ruby MacWilliams (Johnny), Malcolm MacDonald (Isabel), Annalene Strachan (John), Marion MacKenzie (Robert), Mary McAllister (Alec), Billy MacDonald and Thelma MacTavish (Sinclair); and his brothers-in-law, Edison MacLean and Charles Gillis.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Robert (Janice), Albert, Murray and Karen Virr (David); his grandchildren, Erin MacDonald (Ryan Weeks), Joel MacDonald (Kelsey), Rory MacDonald, Connor MacDonald (Alyssa), Graham MacDonald, Nicolle MacDonald, Jake MacDonald (Emily Mahar), Michaela Virr, Charissa Virr and Josiah Virr; his great grandchildren, Hadley MacDonald and Gillian MacDonald; his sisters, Lucille MacLean and Edythe Gillis; and his sister-in-law Dottie MacDonald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
