He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Bryenton and Carrie Bryenton (late Mary Elizabeth); his son Jamie Bryenton; his brothers, George (Gladys), Heath, Ralph, Jim, Delmar (Jo) and Reginald; and his siblings-in-law, Justin, Joseph McGuirk and Cindy McGuirk.

He is survived by: his sibling Thurza Nicholson (John); his children, Joe Bryenton, Debra Grigg (Donald) and Darlene Bryenton (Gilles Desrosiers); his grandchildren, Sheehan Bryenton (Edmonton AB), Josiah Wigmore (Charlottetown) and Karie Bryenton of Paradise, NL; and his siblings-in-law, John McGuirk (Jack), Edith McGuirk and Phyllis Bryenton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
