He was predeceased by: his parents, Pius MacDonald and Mildred MacDonald (Sharkey); his brother Paul MacDonald; his stepson Martin Ropek; and his sister-in-law Ferne MacDonald.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jackie MacDonald, Louis MacDonald (Alice Butler) and Betty Boudreault (Barry); his stepchildren, Paul Meads (Patsy), Bobby Penny (Marilyn), Debby Sheffer (Steve), Billy Penny (Gailene), Cynthia Ropek, Paul Ropek and Tony Ropek; his aunt Pauline O'Hanley; his nephew Derrick Boudreault; and his nieces, Corinne Boudreault, Kristie Robbins and Kendall Robbins "Bobsie Twins".

Donations to the PEI Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
