He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Matheson and John Matheson; and his brothers-in-law, Eldon Cairns, Carl Gillis, John Wood, Leonard Snow, Cecil Stewart and Allister Wood.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny (Kirsten), Tami (Gary Noonan), Kelly, Terry, Jason, Trevor (Katye), Krista MacKenzie and Nikki Matheson; his niece Karen Stewart; and his siblings, Winifred Cairns, Elmer (Alice), Susan Gillis (Jack), Annie Wood, Marion Stewart (Gord), Mary Snow, Dora Matheson (Joe), Warren (Amy) and Eldon Matheson. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
