He was predeceased by: his former wife Irene MacPherson; and his parents, Angus MacPherson and Jennie MacPherson (Nicholson). He is survived by: his wife Evie MacPherson (Facey); and his children, Terri MacPherson, Angela Smith (Dean), Darren MacPherson (Christine), Grampie of Alexander, Rebecca (Andrew), Charlotte (Seth) and Cameron.
