He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack MacPhail and Rotha MacPhail (MacFarlane); his brother Lesley MacPhail (Betty); and his brother-in-law Jack Hayes (Florence). He is survived by: his wife Eleanor MacPhail (Hayes); his daughter Christine Richards (Dean); his grandchildren, Lisa MacPherson (Corey) and Kyle Richards; his great grandchildren, Taylor and Ava MacPherson; his siblings, Eva Frizzell (late Ralph), Christine Walaweno (late Walt) and Graham MacPhail (Laura); and his sisters-in-law, Cokie Hayes (late Eugene), Dianne Cudmore (Bill), Helen Caron (Normand), Janet Kinney (late Bill) and Joan LaFramboise (Renee). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
