He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Carter and Lillian Carter; his daughter Kimberly; and his sisters-in-law, Eileen and Reta Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie; his children, James "Jamie" (Tammy Campbell) and Dawn Carter; and his siblings, Esther Laybolt (Francis), Henry, Louis, Isabell MacKenzie, Anne Marie Laybolt (Reggie), Kathleen Carter, Charlie (Mary), Francis (Jennifer), Joe and Brian (Heika). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
