He was predeceased by: his parents, Elam Shantz and Vera Shantz (Ropp). He is survived by: his wife Catherine (Gingerich); his children, Sonya, Brad Green of Embro and Steve Shantz of Zurich; his grandchildren, Christopher and Kaitlyn; and his siblings, Douglas (Doreen Shantz), Richard (Lois Shantz), Norma (John Iutzi), Nancy (Paul Gingerich) and Mary Ellen (Neil Skinner). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Donations to the Mennonite Central Committee, West Huron Care Centre, or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
