Geertje Sipkens Obituary
The memory of Geertje Sipkens (Wyoming, Ontario), who passed away on December 2, 2024 at the age of 95, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Jan; her in-laws, Jan, Helen Sipkens, Frances Brouwer (Tony), Bill Sipkens (Marie), Stan Sipkens (Laney), Geertje and John Huizenga; her parents, Roel DeJong and Pietertje DeJong; and her siblings, Jack (Betty DeJong), Ed DeJong, Frances (Bart Huizinga) and Jim DeJong.
She is survived by: her children, Hilda Sipkens, Pat and John Groendyk; her siblings, Klaas and Vivian DeJong; and her siblings-in-law, Agnes Sipkens, Joan Huizenga, Clara Barneveld (Bill) and Earl Sipkens (Janet). She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wyoming Chapel (650 Broadway St, Wyoming, ON N0N1T0). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to John Knox Christian School.
