He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Oosterveld and Hendrikje Oosterveld; and his sister Joanne Romkes. He is survived by: his wife Cathy (Noble); his children, Candace, Neil Downey of Toronto, Kevin, Denise Oosterveld of Woodstock, Matthew and Nidya Oosterveld of Kitchener; his grandchildren, William, James, Lucas, Emily and Lily; his siblings, Gordon (Ann Oosterveld), Albert (Pat Oosterveld), Peter (Christine Oosterveld), Martin (Bernice Oosterveld), Henry (Beverly Oosterveld), Washington and Trudy (Paul Basile); and his siblings-in-law, Brian of Palmerston, Mary Noble of Palmerston, Audrey of Palmerston and Allan Toner of Palmerston.

As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation or the Grand River Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
