He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Downey and Shirley Downey; his grandson Nathan Anderson; and his siblings, Ted Downey and Roseanne Downey.
He is survived by: his children, Terri Jo Shaw (Gord) and Gary Downey; his grandchildren, Cory Anderson (Adrienne), Kyle Anderson (Ashley), Dakota Downey-Wood, Chris Shaw and Terri-Lynn Hughes (Darryl Barnes); his great grandchildren, Rory, Evalyn, Kayson, Liam and Logan; his sisters, Bonnie Nichols (Larry), Sharon Rowe, Teresa Knox (George) and Darlene Roberson; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Downey. He is also survived by the many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
