“"Uncle" Ron, you'll be missed. My mother, Marguerite Monfortin, was Winnie and Ron's Maid of Honour when they got married in 1958. Ron and Winnie stood up for my parents when they married in 1960. As the kids arrived from the respective family's over the next several years, both families visited in at least once or twice a year for over 20 years. We were like city "cousins" to their country "cousins". Ron's kids, Shelley, David, Gregory, and Gordon we're like cousins to me and my three sisters. They were and still are the oldest friendships that both families still have, stretching now over 61 years. To me and my siblings, Ron and Winnie were "Aunt" Winnie and "Uncle Ron. As the years went by, beginning in the early 1980s we all grew up and went our separate ways. There hasn't been a day in these over 40 years that I have not fondly remembered the good times and the fun our families had together. Was a man with a wry sense of humor, but I also remember him as a man that would suffer no fools and take no B/S. RIP.”
