He was predeceased by: his spouse Lies "Liz"; his parents, Rens Slik and Trijntje Slik; his brothers, Rens Slik (Bartje) and Gerard Slik (Olga); and also Lien Slik (Bijl).
He is survived by: his children, Thea VanderKlyn (Hein) and Nico Slik (Jolanda); and his stepchildren, Bert Schaafsma (Lorraine), Philip Schaafsma (Janie), Teresa Hill (Larry), Connie Schaafsma (Randy), Frank Schaafsma, Lynn McKim (Scott), Jim Schaafsma (Deb) and Jason Schaafsma. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
