He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Young; his parents, Sterling Young and Elnora Young (Greensides); and his siblings, Sterling Young and Leon Young.

He is survived by: his children, Krista Young, Victoria Young (John) and Carlene McLeish (Martin); his grandchildren, Anna and George; his spouse Lynda Ferguson; his granddaughter Emily; and his siblings, Larry Young (Diane), Kenny Young (Sandy), Donnie Young (Carry), Faye Irwin, Lynda Reid (John) and June Cutting (Gerry).
